11/16/15 Turns out that Lady was farther along in her pregnancy then the vet thought. Lady had her pups today- we don't have the final count but  were sent a picture and it looks like 8.   if all are well, they will all be arriving her on Nov 28th.

Lady will be arriving at our rescue Nov 28th.  She is pregnant and will have her pups in foster care in December, so will not be available to leave for a new home until the pups are weaned.

Note from the southern shelter:  Our sweet southern Lady couldn't get any more perfect. She is as polite as they come. She calmly walked out of her kennel to take a little break in the oasis. She was happy to hang out with everyone and was very calm. Lady was very friendly and even got along with some yard cats that were hanging around. Lady may seem a little nervous but her tail starts wagging the second you speak to her. She is a sweet southern bell and is ready to find her forever home where she can enjoy some nice soft beds and lots of attention.

Lady is very calm and sweet. She is a nice size, too.  She is also pregnant, about halfway through her term.  I brought her home with me yesterday so I could fully evaluate her. She won't stop giving me kisses, and she mingles with my dogs as if she has always been here. She took a nap on my bed with me this afternoon.  She does not bother my cats. I'm thinking she is a Lab/beagle mix.  Her personality, her petite face, and her paws lead me to think this.  My husband saw her and said she looks like an overgrown dachshund. Her coloring is red like a dachshund. The shelter listed her as a hound mix as a catch-all breed.

Would you have a foster home interested in letting her have her pups at their house?  If not, would you take her when she is ready and her pups when they are weaned? The shelter wants me to spay her, and I absolutely hate doing that.  I'm checking out all my option s now before I have to make that decision.

She  had to have been owned by someone. She walks well on leash, walks readily into the house, behaves nicely in the house, willingly goes in to her crate. She has a rough spot on her neck where she ha been wearing a collar.
