Note from Linda Watts (foster mom):
The girls are adopted by holly and joe moye, one of the earlier applications. I visited their home and spent several hours with their animals. It was a good match they are experienced pet owners. We talked about all the issues I have noticed with the girls. Their son was very mature, interested in being with the adults and the dogs, loves dogs and cats, good down to earth people, empty nesters, but not too old.
These dogs are not with our rescue. PLEASE FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION, WE WILL BE PASSING ON THE APPLICATIONS FOR REVIEW AND THE CONTACT PERSON WILL ONLY CONTACT POTENTIAL APPLICANTS THAT MEET PUPPY REQUIREMENTS. 5/11/12 Ginnie is the larger of the two girls, 11 lbs now, she has more of the lab face but terrier mixed in too. Both sleep all night in the crate. Use dog pee pads. Starting leash training. Ready for training mixed with love.
These 2 little ladies have been named Minnie and Ginnie. Such cuties. They are needing to find their forever home but we have decided to adopt them out seperately.
5/2/12 THESE PUPS ARE A COURTESY LISTING FROM A GOOD SAMARITAN WHO RESCUED THEM AND NOW WANTS TO FIND THE PERFECT HOMES FOR THEM. PLEASE READ THEIR STORY BELOW AND WHAT IS BEING OFFERED TO THE NEW FOREVER FAMILY IN THE WAY OF ADDITIONAL VETTING PAID FOR BY THIS CONTACT.

Their story how they came to be rescued: I WAS BIKING ON SATURDAY IN ONANCOCK VA DOWN A MILE LONG WOODED ROAD WITH ONLY A COUPLE RESIDENCES ON THE WHOLE STRETCH. ACCORDING TO THE NEIGHBORS THIS ROAD IS A REGULAR DUMPING GROUND FOR LOTS OF ANIMALS AND TRASH. ANIMAL CONTROL AND SPCA WERE NOT OPEN UNTIL TUESDAY AND WE WERE LEAVING ON SUNDAY. NONE OF THE NEIGHBORS I TALKED TO WOULD HOLD THE DOGS SINCE THEY WERE OBVIOUSLY LOADED WITH TICKS AND THEY HAD DOGS OF THEIR OWN. THEY LIVED IN TRAILERS WITH NO ROOM TO SPARE. THEY WERE DELIGHTED THAT I TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PUPS AND LEFT WITH THEM SO THEY DIDN'T DIE IN THE WOODS. AS I WAS BIKING THEY APPEARED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN I STOPPED FOR THEM, THEY CAME RIGHT OVER AND WANTED BELLY RUBS. THEY RODE WELL IN OUR TRUCK BACK TO NEWARK DE. THERE WAS NO PARENT AROUND. A DEAD BLACK LAB WAS FLOATING IN A NEARBY DITCH BUT HE HAD BEEN THERE FOR MONTHS ACCORDING TO NEIGHBORS.
Vetting: They have had their first vet visit and preliminary vaccinations. I WILL DONATE 2 FREE SPAYS AT 6 MONTHS AT DESPCA OR OTHER ANIMAL SHELTER to the new owners. THE VET WAS CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT BREEDS THEY COULD BE BUT SHE INDICATED THEY LOOKED LIKE A TERRIER/LAB MIX. THEIR PAWS ARE NOT LARGE. THEIR LEGS ARE SHORT COMPARED TO A LAB.
Evaluation by contact person: They like people, good temperament, no known phobias, follow easily, seem very healthy, very loving and would be good lap dogs. Vet not sure what they are except possibly mix of terrier and lab, probably 9-11 weeks old. They sleep in a crate, not excessive barkers but will bark when someone walks past the house and growl when they play. They have started to be taught to go potty on a pee pad, or course at their age, they don't get there all the time. They are also going to be introduced to leashes shortly.
