11/20/12 Update: Blanca is coming along nicely. She now likes to come up on the couch and sleep or at least ask for pets. If you put out your hand she comes to you to get more attention. I recently had company in the house and she came to investigate. Her favorite time is dinner time..just say the word DINNER and she comes running and squealing..running in cirles and rubbing up against you until the dish is put down. She still doesn’t want to be picked up though. She loves to play with string and will chase you around the house if you drag around the string..so sweet, so soft..so easy to keep. She has never been on the kitchen counter even when food is left out. Not picky about her litter box and shares it with another cat. She has accepted several new cats in the house easily.
8/2/12 Update: Blanca is a lovely girl who is still young enough to play and old enough to entertain herself. She loved affection and is learning to get comfortable on the couch with me. She has dealt well with older shy cats and younger rambunctious ones. Never gets on counters and always comes when called for dinner. Never underfoot as she is still skiddish when people start to move fast. Comes to see new people in the house but does so slowly. Sweet girl!
3/18/12 Notes from the foster mom: Blanca has settled in and is very good at adapting to the other cats in the house. she is trying very hard to play with the shy one and has learned to stay away from the one that is not as friendly. She now seeks out company and loves to play put is still shy at approach. She is now coming up to me to ask for food and has started to talk. She loves treats and will come for them. all in all she is adapting very well and is lots of fun.
Notes from her rescuer: Look at this little angel...........isn't she just stunning? You cannot see it in the picture- but her fur is thick and plush- and ultra soft. As the weather grows cold, dark, and gloomy- there is a little bright spot named Blanca who will cheer you up. Her purr is loud and sustained- and what music to your ears it will be. If you have a sunny window, Blanca will be happy to keep watch. Blanca is about 5 mos. old and spent her short life outside as part of a highly socialized colony, but it has lots of human caretakers and shelter so she is already friendly with people and loves to be petted and we think she will be a wonderful inside cat.
