    7/24/16. Wellington is Mr Personality. He is about 4-5 yrs old and 13 lbs. He loves people and other dogs. Very sociable. Wellington will be coming up to Tree Tops on Aug 6th. He will be completely vetted, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. We will also post more pics and videos then. 
    Check out the video the shelter sent us. He is a very happy boy that seems to be food motivated and will do anything for a treat! ☺️ He does that cute fist pump that some dogs do to beg for a treat. The reason they are talking about his legs in the video is because at intake the vet noted him kicking his leg outward. We wanted them to check again after grooming to see if there was anything to note about his walking.  It was noted that he doesn't have any current problems to address with his legs and is not kicking it out as before.  Animals are always checked out by the shelter vet to see if they have any injuries at intake to address. We wanted an update to see if the noted leg was the same or fine after he has time to relax and rest.  We think that with all the matting he might have had some hair knotting that was pulling at the skin on the leg which would cause him to initially kick out his leg in discomfort.

    Small dogs normally live into the double digits and that means Wellington has lots of living in a new forever home. He is thankfully past that puppy and adolescent stage. He would be great with a family, retirees/empty nesters or people that like to travel and have fun. 

    CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR POTENTIAL ADOPTERS SO WE CAN BE READY TO FIND WELLINGTON HIS FOREVER HOME. PLEASE FILL OUT A DOG ADOPTION FORM ON OUR SITE ASAP. SMALL DOGS GET SNATCHED UP QUICKLY. 

    He was found by a Good Samaritan who couldn't keep him. He was matted and covered in fleas. He has some hair loss on his hind end because of scratching to get the fleas off. Now that he has had a few baths to get rid of the fleas and a spiffy hair cut he is feeling great. The shelter has his breed as a Pekinese mix but I rather think he is a Shih Tzu mix, maybe with Pekinese??? It's all a guess.
