2/26/15 Update: The mystery of Mittens is how such a tiny girl, the size of a half-grown kitten, could successfully raise 7 kittens who outweighed her, and how such a little girl has such a BIG voice. Mittens is a petite but full grown cat with a smooth Russian blue gray coat, white toes, chest, and chin, and the loud harsh voice of a Siamese cat. Mittens is a very friendly and playful cat and got along fine with the other dogs and cats here although she was overwhelmed at first by all the other animals and took of couple of weeks to settle in with them. Mittens is spayed, vaccinated, and tested FeLV/FIV negative.
2/30/14 Mittens is a petite young adult cat who was dumped at the philedelphia shelter with her 7 kittens. Her kitten days are now behind her and she is now spayed and fully vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Although she doesn't physically look it, Mittens has characterisitics of a Siamese, very talkative with a a loud harsh voice, wnding through your legs while purring and talking, and demanding attention on her own terms. She actually hard to get a picture of because whenever a person is nearby she just keeps rubbing against you and won't stay still.
11/22/14 Mittens was turned in the Philadelphia shelter with her 7 kittens, who appear to be about 4 weeks old and is now in foster care with us. She'll be ready for adoption after her kittens are weaned and she is spayed, in about a month.
Notes from the shelter. Miss mommy Mittens had a whopping seven kittens! This poor gray tuxedo mother cat is exhausted after having such a big family! Her kittens love to snuggle with her, as you can see from their pictures. Mittens is about three years old and was in a home. After having so many babies, her owner decided to give her up and her kittens up. There are a few runts in the litter but everyone is doing well and looks healthy!
