3/18/16 Binkie is an adorable 10 lb. Black Pom mix (could also be Chi or Spitz) can only guess.  He was found wondering close to a shelter where they took him in.  He may have been abandoned there.  He has beautiful longer wavy hair that is so thick (us ladies would kill for). He is a total love bug and loves to be held. He has fit right in with the other small dogs in the home and definitely likes to hang around people and animals. He is great on a leash, has been great with going potty outside, no food aggression, good in crate and good in the car for a ride.  He can get startled at loud noises but we are sure he will feel more comfortable shortly.  It does not stop him from wanting attention.  He is a sensative dog meaning if you yell or get upset he will have his feeling hurt thinking you are mad at him and will be stand offish for awhile till he thinks your OK with him again.  Binkie is obedient and will listen to direction.  He is excited to see you each morning, coming home and when it is time for dinner - he will stand on his hind legs and do the front paw begging fist pumps that are common in dogs like Poodles and Poms.  It is so cute.  He would be great with a family with older children, empty nesters or retiree.  Binkie has had a Wellness Visit where he was fully vetted and had all shots, nails clipped, microchipped and was neutered. We did Heartworm test him and he is positive so we will be treating him with a 2-day shot to kill the heatworms and then he will have to rest quietly for a few weeks before he can be adopted out. Binkie will be good as new and ready for his forever home soon.  He will be good to go the second or third week in April.

We would like a family that has a fenced in yard because Binkie loves to hang out in the sun and run around the yard.  If off leash he would run off and we do not want that.  Also we would prefer someone that is home most of the time, retired or works part time because Binkie is a companion dog and doesn't like to be alone too long.  4 hrs is the max for him to be crated at a time until you are confident he would be OK roaming the house while you are away.
