KATIE WILL BE ADOPTED INTO HER NEW FOREVER HOME ON THURSDAY, MAY 3RD. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INTEREST BUT PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR OTHER DOGS THAT STILL NEED A GREAT HOME.
4/17/12 Katie is now completely vetted and ready to go. Katie is doing wonderful. She is a good leash walker, loves the car, is a real lap warmer and even lays on the top of the coach to be close to you if your lap is occupied. She follows me around the house, is very obedient, and is happy to be around people. She was groomed so she is feeling much better. She had lots of mats so she had to have her pretty Poodle curles cut off. Also Katie seems to be completely housebroken too. When at the groomers she came in contact with some cats and kittens and took a sniff and then kept going. She is a little bouncy as Poodles and Schnauzer's are when you first come up to her to greet her but settles down afterwards. She is a great companion dog that would be wonderful to take to work and warm your feet while in an office or be out and about greeting people too. She is not overly barky either.
4/15/12 Katie the cute schnoodle mix has just arrived. We are evaluating her and I can say that she is a very friendly girl to everyone and doesn't mind other dogs at all. She rides nice in a car and loves to look out the window or sit in your lap! She loves to run after a ball but doesn't bring it back. I take her out regularly and she does her business outside, so far no accidents. She slept in her crate last night, she made a fuss for about 15 min then settled down for the night. She is matted and has a quarter size hot spot that is healing up nicely, probably due to a twisted mat that pulled the hair away from the skin. Poodles hair grows so they must be taken to the groomer periodically to keep it from matting. The poor dear had several ticks on her and we spend the first hour pulling them all off her and cleaning her up. She is feeling much better. She came from a Southern shelter where they are housed outside. I am sure with the weather and bugs she is glad to be out of there. She is very thin so we will be feeding her well to pick up a few lbs. Katie is a wonderful companion dog.
If you are interested, please fill out an application now so we can get you approved so we can then set you up for a visit with her. Our small dogs do not last long, especially the Poodle mixes.
Notes from the shelter: Arrived very matted. Friendly girl.
