3/26/12 Howie is here. When you pick him up he clings onto you and rests his head on your body. He had a long trip up on Sat. and is glad to ge out of that small crate. He is just striking with those lovable ears and those colored rings around the eyes. At 9 lbs. he has a solid body type not as deliquet as a purebred Chi. NOTE FROM THE FOSTER: Howie has been vetted this morning, and micro chipped. He is a little shy but warms up fast and a great cuddler who loves to play with other dogs. He is puppy-like and loves to play and slept in her bed because he did not like being in a crate while the other dogs slept with her. He has done his business outside to date and we will keep you posted on further evaluation.
Howie is scheduled to arrive late March 10th. He was turned in to a South Carolina shelter with a couple of other chihuahua mixes, and he was so adorable with those ginormous ears that we couldn't resist offering to take him in.
Notes from the shelter: Howie is a chihuahua and acts like it. He is great with all his fellow small dogs but I don't think he will be that great with large dogs until he gets to know them well. He does not seem to be all barky like some chi and is friendly once he warms up to you.
