2/4/12 Jill has had her hip surgery and is recuperating in her foster home and starting physical therapy soon.
1/24/12 Jill is a sweet, calm, gentle girl just as wonderful as the shelter satff described. However, she has a congenital problem with her hip and we'll be taking her to an orthopedist for evaluation and we expect that she'll need surgery, so she won't be available for adoption until after that. After she recovers, we expect she will live a long, happy life, but she won't be the right fit for an active household, since she should be more of a house dog and couch potato.
Notes from the foster mom:Jill is a sweet, laid back girl. She's pretty submissive in that she doesn't need to be the animal in charge. They say she's Jack Russell/beagle but she barely barks and doesn't jump. She's learned to sit and to drop things she's picked up since being in foster. She walks great on a leash and is crate trained. She's loved all dogs, cats, and people she's seen so far - but gets very excited to meet them! Jill loves walks, but then enjoys snuggling on the couch for the evening. She also loves her doggie bed and belly rubs!
Notes from the shelter: Hi! My name is Jill and I'm really cute. I'm about 2 years old & 25 lbs. I'm a pretty laid back girl just looking for some lovin'. I love being around other dogs and looking for a friendly playmate. I really like people too. In fact, I keep hearing "sweet" in the same sentence as my name. They say I looks like a beagle/JRT but I'm not at all hyper.
