Notes from the caretaker:
I have been 'housing' a stray cat on our back porch through the winter and to date. I mistakenly started feeding her this winter when she appeared on our deck and didn't leave after 5 days. I assumed a neighbor must be looking for her so thought I should take care of her until we could locate her owner. She is very affectionate and friendly with everyone and she appeared well fed. So I fed her, took pictures, posted flyers, emailed my entire community. Her name is Twiggy and she has seen a vet. Her previous owner had her spayed and immunized. She was well taken care of. She just couldn't keep her home. I've returned her numerous times but she just comes back. I made a box for her in the screened porch for warmer shelter, fed her and kept her in our garage through the coldest part of the winter. My husband thinks I am crazy. She has always fought to come inside the house but we already have a cat and cannot have another. The financial commitment and increased allergies make it impossible. Now that we are opening the windows in the warmer weather, she is 'breaking in' through the screens. We have found her on our bed in the middle of the night! She loves us, no question. We have really done all we can do for her. She needs a home with an owner who can return her affections. She is very sweet. She terrifies our 'resident cat' who never goes outside though. She appears young and in good health. Please see the photos, although they are not great. She is a small, grey, female tiger cat. I look forward to hearing from you, hopefully asap before we have to repair too many more screens.
